Message From Vice-chancellor

 

It is matter of pride for us to have got an opportunity to host 16th National Convention of Society of Pharmacognosy and International symposium on herbal and traditional medicine on the theme “Frontiers in Drug Discovery from Herbal & Traditional Medicine”

         Renewed interest in herbal products globally has opened many new areas for exploration of natural products particularly herbal drugs which require coordination and harmonization of regulations related to their products particularly phytomedicine in research and development as both pharmaceutical and neutraceutical. I am sure that this national and international meet will provide ideal platform for interaction, debate, fusion and dissemination of ideas among national and international scientist and professional involved.

 

        I cordially invite you to participate in the historic event taking place at ecofriendly campus of Saurashtra University, Rajkot which is ranked first in entire state of Gujarat as per NAAC evaluation.

It is matter of great previledge and satisfaction for us that 16th National Convention of Society of Phamacognosy and International Symposium on Herbal and Traditional Medicine is being hosted by Saurashtra University from 9-11 March 2012.

        I welcome you all at the land of asiatic lions by lion hearted people to attend this event at Rajkot in Saurashtra Region of Gujarat, India.
       
     I am sure that this event will showcase the exciting and challenging development occuring in the field of herbal medicine. This event will provide platform for review of the current status , including challenges and opportunities, specifically with regards to modernization of herbal medicine.

Message from President Society of Pharmacognosy
 

It is a matter of immense pleasure to know that “16 th National Convention of Society of Pharmacognosy and International Symposium on Herbal and Traditional Medicines” is being organised from 9 th to 12th March 2012, at Rajkot.

 

      The herbal and traditional medicine scene has changed dramatically. The health benefits from herbal and natural products are being recognised due to continuous and constant research efforts throughout the globe. The quality and safety, however, remains elusive in a majority of cases and more vigorous efforts will frame the way to provide the herbal medicine its due place.

      I extend my greetings and hope that deliberations, discussions and interactions will be highly productive as well as motivating to all the participants.

My best wishes for the success of the convention.
